ST. LOUIS -- The longest winning streak in Saint Louis history ended Thursday night with a surprising loss at home to Duquesne. That was hardly the most disappointing part of it as far as forward Dwayne Evans was concerned. "The streak didnt really mean much to us," Evans said. "Its a tough loss because theres a championship on the line, not just because it broke the streak." Micah Mason had 22 points and Jerry Jones added 19, leading Duquesne to a 71-64 victory. Saint Louis (25-3, 12-1 Atlantic 10) had won 19 straight since dropping a 70-65 decision on Dec. 1 to unbeaten Wichita State, now ranked No. 2 in the country. With a win, the Billikens could have clinched at least a tie for the Atlantic 10 regular-season title. But it was the Dukes who looked like title contenders Thursday. "They did a really nice job and we just didnt play well enough," Saint Louis coach Jim Crews said. "Weve played well and weve been fortunate. Tonight, we didnt play well enough. "We have no license that were going to win. One teams going to win and one teams going to lose. Whoever plays the best (wins). Thats how it is, and they played better than us." Mason, who entered leading the nation in 3-point shooting percentage (.554), hit four of five from behind the arc for Duquesne (12-15, 4-10), which beat a top-10 opponent on the road for the first time since defeating No. 6 Bradley 73-72 on March 5, 1962. Duquesne improved to 5-28 on the road against top 10 teams. The Dukes, who were 14-point underdogs, are 25-55 overall against teams ranked in the top 10. Although it looked like a mismatch on paper, Jones said he and the Dukes could feel this one coming. "Really, this team was ready to get beat and I just wanted to be a part of it and so did everybody else," he said. Evans had 10 points and 12 rebounds for Saint Louis. Mike McCall Jr. led the Billikens with 18 points, while Jordair Jett (13 points) and Rob Loe (12 points) also were in double digits. Saint Louis will try to rebound Saturday when it visits VCU. Crew said the team will not vary its approach after losing for the first time in nearly three months. "We do the same thing whether we win or lose," he said. "We just try to clean up what we did wrong. We address those things we did wrong, we keep working on our fundamentals and try to get better and move on with the next team. It doesnt make a difference win or lose. Our routine is pretty much the same." The Billikens appeared to be in good shape after Jetts layup with 13:44 remaining gave them a 42-35 lead. But the Dukes took command with an 18-2 run capped by a 3-pointer and then a layup by Jones that made it 53-44 with 7:41 left. Saint Louis fought back and had a chance to cut it to a one-possession game with under a minute remaining. Loe, however, missed a free throw and that led to Jones layup at the other end with 52 seconds left that made it 63-57. The Dukes played Saint Louis tough in their first meeting, losing 76-72 at home on Jan. 22. Duquesne was up for the challenge again Thursday and showed it early as Mason hit his first two shots from behind the arc to help the Dukes grab a 13-8 advantage. Mason was called for his second foul shortly thereafter and went to the bench, and the Billikens began to take advantage of his absence. Saint Louis went 1 for 7 from 3-point range in the first half, but Jake Barnetts 3 with 44 seconds left gave the Billikens a 29-25 halftime lead. Andrew Billings Jersey . No such luck. Wiggins owned the end of Parkers impressive homecoming. The Kansas star scored 16 of his 22 points in the second half, outplaying Parker down the stretch and helping the fifth-ranked Jayhawks knock off No. Geno Atkins Jersey . For the Bombers it has been a combination of things coming together at the most inappropriate moments in time. Quarterback, injuries, Canadian talent or depth and leadership are all issues. Trust me when I say being a Bomber is no fun right now in a city that embraces football the way Winnipeg does. While Buck Pierce will be getting another shot, I think Max Hall does deserve another opportunity. http://www.officialbengalsprofanatics.c ... tt-Jersey/. Buffalos defensive co-ordinator had his second interview with Cleveland owner Jimmy Haslam and CEO Joe Banner on Tuesday night, a person familiar with the Browns plans told The Associated Press. Jordan Willis Jersey . Teams one through twenty competing in Englands top flight are each fatally flawed. A wide-open, highly competitive and mistake-filled season has followed. KeiVarae Russell Jersey . His brother — Red Lake chiropractor Richard Radford — is en route to Sochi to cheer on his younger brother. "Ive been getting texts from Eric and he just says the atmosphere is amazing, its special,” he said.MONACO -- Real Madrids Champions League title defence takes shape Thursday at one of the most open draws in years. Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Chelsea -- the past four winners -- are among the eight top-seeded clubs in the 32-team draw. However, lower-ranked seeding pots loaded with big spenders returning to the Champions League after years away promise to deliver trickier than usual groups. Five-time winner Liverpool will make its first appearance since 2009 in Pot 3, decided by rankings over five years of UEFA competition results. Manchester City, Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain -- champions of England, Italy and France -- are in a strong Pot 2, which also includes 2013 finalist Borussia Dortmund. Former finalists Monaco and Roma are the glamor options sharing Pot 4 with unheralded Maribor and group-stage newcomers Ludogorets and Malmo. Though Spain, England and Germany all have a full quota of four teams in the draw, they all also have a team in lowly Pot 3, with Athletic Bilbao and Bayer Leverkusen joining Liverpool. The four-team groups, which kick off Sept. 16, cannot include two teams from the same country. Madrid could start its quest for a record-extending 11th European title in a blockbuster group with PSG, Liverpool and Roma. Still, no team will beat the defending champions for star power. Madrid rode its forward line of Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale and Karim Benzema to the title last season, and now has added World Cup stars James Rodriguez of Colombia and Toni Kroos of Germany. Barcelona countered buying Luis Suarez from Liverpool to join Lionel Messi and Neymar in a forward line of South American superstars. Suarez will miss three Champions League matches while serving his four-month FIFA ban for biting Italy defender Giorgio Chiellini at the World Cup, though a reunion with the Juventus player is possible later in the group stage. Bayern, the 2013 winner, is among only three national champions in the top-seeded ranks, along with Atletico Madridd and Benfica.dddddddddddd Benfica and Porto give Portugal two top-seeded teams despite combining for only one Champions League quarterfinal appearance in the past five years. Both added ranking points from good Europa League runs. Both are among 10 former European champions in a draw which counts Manchester United and AC Milan as notable absentees. Man City and PSG are still building their Champions League pedigree and rankings after spending heavily to catch more established rivals. As a result, UEFA punished both for breaching Financial Fair Play rules by limiting their squad quota of senior players to 21 instead of 25. Zenit St. Petersburg, also in Pot 2, is limited to 22 senior players. Another UEFA order means Ukrainian and Russian teams cannot play each other for security reasons. That will separate Shakhtar Donetsk in Pot 2 from CSKA Moscow in Pot 3. Shakhtar, whose expensive stadium has been damaged in the conflict in eastern Ukraine, must also play its home matches in the western city of Lviv. The 32 teams will share nearly 1 billion euros ($1.34 billion) in UEFA prize money. UEFA pays a basic 8.6 million euros ($11.5 million) fee for entering the group, plus 1 million euros ($1.34 million) per win and 500,000 euros ($670,000) per draw. Teams also get a share of television rights money. The top two teams in each group advance to the Round of 16 starting in February. The final will be played at the Olympic Stadium in Berlin on June 6 -- the latest date since the first European Cup final on June 13, 1956. ------ Seedings Pot 1: Real Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Chelsea, Benfica, Atletico Madrid, Arsenal, Porto.
